Hello, I am an avid Othello player since 1981, when I was 16 years old.  My prime performance was 1996, 1998, 2000 World Champion.   I still play fairly well, and I enjoy the game greatly.

The photo on this profile page was taken at a tournament in Tokyo last year.  In the center is me; on the right is Kento Urano (current World Champion); and on the left is Takeshi Hasegawa, a son of late Goro Hasegawa (creator of Othello) and an expert player with 5th dan.

Below is a text (in English) published in 2000.  I wrote about the first half of my career as an Othello player: how I got hooked, how I improved my skills, how I reached the pinnacle, and how I lost to Logistello (an AI player) in 1997.  It's a real quest of a lifetime.  Enjoy.
