Paul Ralle is the 1984 World Othello Champion, the first player from Europe to win the WOC. 

Paul won the 1984 WOC in Melbourne, Australia when he was just 16 years old after winning his first French national title (he would go on to win the French Othello championships another five times). Paul dominated the French Othello scene from the mid 1980s to early 1990s and was also one of the best players in the world during that period (after his win in 1984 he reached the final of the WOC on three more occasions in 1986, 1987 and 1991).

Paul had a very bold and creative approach to the game and was not afraid to experiment with different styles.
